South African Flag (2006)
Fabric, threads and beads / 6000 x 2500 mm
Commissioned as part of the construction of the court building
The creation of the flag required the intensive labour of beaders from KwaZulu-Natal, who worked on separate panels over several months until they were ready to be joined. The vibrant flag stands in contrast with the muted tones of the court chamber.
