Dumile Feni - Passionately Muled, 1977
Dumile Feni (1942–1991)
Passionately Muled (1977)
Pen and ink on paper, 1117 x 798 mm
Donated by Albie Sachs
Feni's work can be sensual, using bulls and horses as carnal metaphors for the juxtaposition of softness and hardness, man and beast. His distorted figures reinforce this visual sensation. To some extent his work belongs to the realm of the fantastic.
