Artist information:David Goldblatt was born in Randfontein in 1930 after his parents moved to South Africa in 1893, who sought refuge in South Africa, away from the persecution of Jewish people in Lithuania. Goldblatt received a degree in commerce from the University of Witwatersrand. Goldblatt is known for his documentary photographs during apartheid. After apartheid ended in 1994 and before his death in 2018, Goldblatt photographed South African landscapes.
