| Artist information: | James Serole Mphahlele was born at Ga-Mphahlele, Limpopo in 1954. He trained to be a foundation phase teacher at the Sekhukhune College of Education in 1976/77. Mphahlele went on to study art at the Ndaleni College of Education, in Rorke's Drift, KwaZulu-Natal. He also studied art at the Johannesburg Art Foundation in 1983/84. In 1989 he held his first solo show at Gallery 21 in Johannesburg, where he presented the DIALOGA series. |
