Victoria Ndyaluvana

Victoria Ndyaluvana was a member of the Bambanani Women’s Group in Cape Town, where she participated in Body Mapping to explore her identity and experience of living with HIV/AIDS. Her artwork reflects a deep sense of self-awareness, showing how she understands both her strengths and struggles through symbolic imagery. She represents resilience through elements like aloe, which she associates with healing and strength against illness, including HIV. Her Body Map also expresses emotional pain and the physical impact of trauma, while highlighting the importance of community support in her life. She presents a powerful balance of vulnerability, endurance and care for others through her story.
