A LUTA CONTINUA: Reflecting on 30 years of democracy through the CCAC - KZNSA Gallery, Durban - 27 September - 10 November 2024 |
Signage: | The integration of traditional craft into the building fosters a strong sense of belonging and place. Following an initial attempt to donate a pot during the collection’s founding years, artist Jabu Nala was commissioned to create patterned tiles inspired by traditional Zulu pottery designs. These were cast in brass and installed along the courtroom and gallery steps, bringing warmth and beauty to the space. In 2024, the Artworks Committee acquired this pot to commemorate the original Nala pot from the early collection, which was irreparably damaged. |
