Everyone is equal before the law and has the right to equal protection and benefit of the law. The artist has represented the 17 grounds protected against unfair discrimination, or unequal treatment, in small icons arranged in a large circle, recalling the signs of the zodiac. The imagery and style clearly reveal that the artist is influenced by traditional West African art and symbolism, adding a rich cultural depth to the work.
