Signage: | Hilda Bernstein was a prominent British-born anti-apartheid and women's rights activist, forced into exile after her husband, Lionel Bernstein, was tried in the Rivonia Trial in 1964. Government harassment forced them to flee to Botswana, where she focussed more on art-making, yet she continued to be vocal in the anti-apartheid movement. |
