Signage: | Isichumo is a pear-shaped Zulu basket usually used to store traditional beer, umqombothi, that can be transported on the head. Mealie meal porridge paste is poured into it to keep the basket watertight. Tight weaving is also an effective way to render baskets waterproof. |
