Depicted is a married woman in full attire. The diamond shaped piece over her forehead is to strengthen love. The hair is red ochre because lobola was paid by her husband; it is stranded and at first worn concealing the eyes, later divided after a child has been born. The beadwork design and ornaments are typical of her home district Richmond, KwaZulu-Natal.
