The scene in the artwork is carnal but unnerving. The warped beast may represent humankind's underlying primal nature and desires, while the human figures are depicted in intimate connection, speaking to human embrace in times of uncertainty and hardship. Feni suffered due to apartheid, but clung to a sense of universal humanity.
