Trumpeting angels herald the arrival of the right to assemble, picket and present petitions freely. The artist uses the words from this section in the Bill of Rights on the banners held by demonstrators that fill his image. The dense, anonymous crowd forms the shape of the African continent, with flames visible, both symbolic of violence and rebirth.
