| Signage: | Deeply rooted in the visual and social dynamics of street life, this tapestry sees Mautloa translate the pulse of the street into woven form. A layered, spontaneous composition of fragmented shapes and colour echoes the rhythms of the city. The imagery suggests a crowd of moving figures, evoking the energy of a march, gathering, or political protest. Set against a dark background suggestive of night or late afternoon through the bursts of yellow and scattered colours that recall firelight or street illumination, heightening a sense of movement and urgency. These Forms appear fragmented and intuitive, overlapping like fleeting moments in urban space. Rather than presenting a fixed narrative, the work captures the intensity, uncertainty, and collective presence of life in motion. |
