Keiskamma Our South Africa Tapestries

This tapestry series is a visual exploration of the foundational values of the Constitution: human dignity, equality and freedom – and what they mean in the context of rural life, drawing on the artists’ experiences as women living in an impoverished area of the Eastern Cape. Individually, the tapestries represent an intimate expression of personal hopes and dreams, manifested stitch by stitch.
