A newlywed couple’s gleeful faces are surrounded by cattle, referring to the practice of lobola (dowry) in African custom. A house suggests the start of their lives together. However, a tragedy is signified by two graves marked with crosses, alluding to the many youths whose lives were cut short fighting against the injustice of apartheid.
