This artwork portrays a mother holding a child and a speech by Martin Luther King in which he yearns for a society devoid of racial discrimination. The mother and child symbolise the past, present, and future; the child represents that which is hoped for and nurtured, and the mother older generations’ ongoing battle for equality.
