Micky Patel Cartoon Print 9 (1988) depicts Mahatma Gandhi walking, with the caption below his feet written

“if i had my fast to live again stop id fast for nelson mandela..stop...and winnie mandela” — can be read as a personal declaration of commitment and sacrifice. The speaker evokes the idea of a fast (a traditional form of protest and self-sacrifice) to underline deep moral support for Mandela’s freedom and, by extension, Winnie Mandela’s role in the struggle against apartheid.
