Large-scale custom carpet commissioned by the Court’s Architectural Artworks Committee and designed by Andrew Verster for the Court Chamber in 2001, in collaboration with Blackboard Jungle / Brabetz as tufting makers. The work measures approximately 16,270 mm × 7,385 mm and forms a dominant floor surface within the space, shaping movement and spatial orientation within the room.

As with the Foyer carpet, the design is derived from the shadows of leaves cast on the ground at the building site. This reference connects the interior of the Court to the surrounding landscape, introducing a sense of place and environmental continuity into the architectural interior.

The composition is defined by an abstract pattern in deep blue and purple tones set against a light grey or off-white ground. Its flowing, non-geometric forms evoke shifting shadows and natural terrain, producing a calm yet dynamic visual field. The design is articulated through colour boundaries within the textile, with a low-pile surface that subtly responds to changing natural light conditions.
