Signage: | The work depicts women celebrating South Africa's first democratic elections in 1994, announced the year before. The title translates to “let them return to the wombs”, an isiZulu expression meaning to return to a traditional way, as it was done in the past, referring to a hope of restoring pre-apartheid and pre-colonisation traditions. |
