Pumla Dladla, pictured, discovered that she was HIV-positive in 1997 only when her child was diagnosed with the disease. Due to a lack of AIDS education in the Eastern Cape, she did not know she could take Nevirapine to stop the virus passing to her child. She wanted to tell her story as a way of informing others of treatment efficacy.
