Signage: | This work juxtaposes the horrors of the 1976 Soweto Uprising with a more optimistic mood 30 years later. A smiling police officer and excited Black learners, one's raised fist signifying resistance, are placed in front of a township riot visible through the yellow and orange-hued smoke, layering different memories and periods. |
