Drawing on his childhood experience in rural Venda, the artist depicts fishing, an ancient trade where the connection between work and being able to eat and make a living is obvious and direct. The fishermen, seemingly universal and timeless, are seen using cone-shaped woven baskets, the shape of which inspired the design of the Constitutional Court’s chandeliers.
