Custom-designed carpet produced for a Judge’s Chambers within the Constitutional Court, developed through a site-specific commission by Romeo Zamane Makhanya and Sifiso Ka-Mkame in collaboration with Contact Art. Conceived as part of a limited architectural competition during the building’s construction, the work translates the artists’ visual language into a hand-tufted textile form. Produced with specialist makers and tufting practitioners, the carpet functions as both a spatial intervention and a personalised expression within the otherwise consistent architectural framework of the Chambers.
