Norman Kaplan

Norman Kaplan was born in Port Elizabeth in 1947 and studied at the local Technical College Sch1ool of Art. In 1977 he left for London where he lived for 14 years, working as a graphic designer and film-maker and producing works that protested Apartheid. After his return to South Africa he helped establish the Mayibuye Centre for History & Culture at the University of the Western Cape. He has shown his art in several exhibitions throughout the country.
